The hall has capacity for different numbers of people depending on the layout and the various numbers are contained in the Hire Agreement. However for the usual layout of tables, but no stage, the maximum is 189 people.
The minimum booking period is Friday 1pm to Sunday midday and includes a mandatory 3 hour deep clean charge.
It should be noted that we have a Planning Restriction due to the proximity of numerous houses, that music may not be played after 11.00pm.
You are expected to leave the hall in an acceptable state and remove all your rubbish. As part of the hire fee we will arrange a professional clean after your wedding reception.
WEDDINGS at Grundisburgh Village Hall
Grundisburgh Village Hall is an ideal space to hold your wedding reception. It has a large hall with access to an outside grassed area and patio. A large kitchen and separate bar area are accessible directly to the hall and an AV sound system and ceiling mounted projector are provided. The hall benefits from underfloor heating, accessible toilets, parking spaces and electric car charging points.
The hall has an impressive, vaulted ceiling being over 7m (20 ft) at its highest point. At its longest/widest it is 12.8m (42 ft) by 17.9m (60 ft) and has a floor area of 188 sq m (over 2,000 sq ft). It has a recessed area which many people use for the location of the Top Table and two sets of double doors which open onto a patio area and a large grassed area.
We have put numerous hooks in the wall at the top of door height which can be used to decorate the hall with your own bunting etc.
There is a large kitchen and separate bar both of which open onto the hall for serving food and drinks. The kitchen is not a “professional” kitchen but outside caterers we recommend (see below) are familiar with the facilities and bring their own equipment to cater for a wedding (and also cutlery and crockery).
We have 150 chairs (you need to hire your own tables) and a modern hifi system which can be used to play music or for speeches.
There is a separate room of around 30 sq m (300 sq ft) which is included in the hire and can be used for storing wedding presents.
There are men’s and women’s toilets and also a disabled toilet.
Stage available; full av system, facility for lighting bar, cleaning available, acoustic sound baffles, accessible toilet, baby changing table.

Garden Use and Car Parking
The hall has car parking for 50 cars, plus a large lawn area to the south with two sets of double doors opening out onto a patio.
We have two recommended caterers who have been used by a number of people and who have received very good feedback from hirers of the hall.
